but that's pretty much a pipe dream. I could see myself
volunteering through national parks or on bike tours or something.
I am very much an outdoors person now -- spend my
leisure time kayaking (sea kayak), camping (often with the
kayak), bicycling, hiking, and, in the winter, x-c skiing.
Contradancing is my night-time and indoor winter addiction. The
Grange on Chapman Street
is still pretty much THE contradance center of New
England.
Still involved in music.I started an a cappella
women's chorus at the hospital; we sing for hospital-related events
only, and have a fun time. Ths year, I satisified a long-time
dream by taking up the alto saxophone. I have so much more
admiration for any of you co-GHS-band members who played any of the
reed instruments. It's HARD!!! I still have my cello and
pull it out a few times a year to play with my sisters or the Peterson
women (Shiela, Joanne and Barbara).
Still somewhat active in community theater,
though I am not in plays as often. They get in the way of my
other activities! I'm finishing my 10th year as a member of the
Board of Directors for Arena Civic Theatre, which got its beginning 35
years ago at the Roundhouse (Franklin County Fairgrounds). We
produce three plays/year at the Shea Theatre in Turners Falls.
In fact, our fall production, "The Sound of Music," opens the same
weekend as the reunion. If any of you will be here with families,
come on over; there's even a matinee on Sunday (10/16).
